A Walk Among the Trees and a Guided Meditation: A Morning to Ease Unwanted Loneliness
This past Saturday, October 25th, Arpe Shop joined the Week Against Unwanted Loneliness, organised by Sant Joan de Déu Solidaritat, taking part in an activity that filled our hearts: a gentle walk among the trees and a guided meditation with older women in vulnerable situations, residents or participants from Casa AVIDI.
The activity, free and open to everyone, took place in Calella (Catalonia, Spain) with a simple yet essential purpose: to accompany, to walk together, and to create a space where calm and companionship became the centre of the morning.

The day started with a light drizzle, but nature gifted us a small twist: little by little, the sky opened and a soft light returned, as if it too wanted to join the gathering. We were a small group, and perhaps for that reason everything felt even more intimate. Among the participants were older women, some with limited mobility. One of them, walking with a cane and remarkable determination, offered us a beautiful example of strength and perseverance. When we walk together, we go further.
A Morning That Began With Drizzle and Ended in Light

The walk took us through a peaceful park, surrounded by greenery and gentle silence. After a short route adapted to everyone’s pace, we found a space between the trees that invited us to sit down, breathe deeply, and let ourselves be guided through a meditation led by Montse Pera. What happened next can only be described as pure emotion. One of the women shared, with tearful eyes: “A tear fell… I felt connected to the trees.” These are the moments that give meaning to this Week: instants that break routine, awaken something inside, and remind us that we do not walk alone.
Slow Steps, Deep Breaths

At Arpe Shop, we deeply believe in the power of small actions carried out with intention and heart. That is why participating in initiatives like this resonates so strongly with us. They reflect human sustainability by taking care of one another. Connection to our community for being present in our local environment. And, empathy and presence by offering time, listening, and company to those who need it most. This kind of volunteering doesn’t just transform someone else’s day; it transforms us too.
The Power of Small Actions

Thank You, SJD and Casa AVIDI
We want to thank Sant Joan de Déu Solidaritat and Casa AVIDI for their essential work supporting older women experiencing homelessness or vulnerability. And above all, thank you to the women who shared their morning with us.
You leave us with a lesson in energy, tenderness, and courage that we will not forget.
Keeping the Momentum
At Arpe Shop, we will continue collaborating on projects that create real, human impact. Because caring for people also means caring for the world. And because we believe that true sustainability (the kind that is lived) always begins by putting the heart at the centre.
