MAKE SMALL CHANGES, CREATE A BIG IMPACT
You have the power to make a difference
Responsible consumption as a tool for change
Did you know that responsible consumption is one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? Goal number 12 invites us to rethink how we buy and how we produce, keeping people, the planet, and the local economy in mind.
Sustainability stands on three essential pillars:
• Social: caring for the people behind every product.
• Environmental: protecting natural resources and reducing waste.
• Economic: ensuring that projects are viable and long-lasting.
Only when these three elements are in balance can we speak of conscious and transformative consumption.

How we do it at Arpe
At Arpe Shop, we believe sustainability starts with design (eco-design). Before creating any product, we ask ourselves what impact it will have and how we can make it more responsible. We are committed to in-house, local, and artisanal production, using recycled materials and minimizing waste as much as possible.
But we also know that sustainability isn’t just a brand’s responsibility. It starts at home, in every small everyday action.
Four actions for a more mindful daily life
Changing our lifestyle isn’t always easy, but introducing small habits can make a big difference. Here are four simple ideas to start today:
-
Buy local and close to home. Choose small businesses or km0 products to reduce emissions and support the local economy.
-
Buy what you need. Buying in bulk or planning meals helps reduce food waste.
-
Reduce waste. Bring reusable bags and choose durable products instead of single-use ones.
-
Give a second life to what you own. Repair, repurpose, or donate before throwing away. The value of an object can go far beyond its first use.
Let’s start this change together
With Black Friday and the holiday season approaching, it’s a good time to reflect on how we want to consume. Maybe we can’t change everything overnight, but we can take the first step: choosing better, buying with intention, and giving real value to what we purchase.
Remember: every small change matters. And together, we can make responsible consumption more than just an option; we can make it a way of life.
